As a certified Somatic Breathwork Facilitator, certified health and wellness coach, and sound healer, I will help guide you through self-discovery to overcome any obstacles that may be holding you back from becoming the most authentic version of yourself.
I know the feeling of being stuck. For years I struggled with depression and anxiety and at one point in my life decided that I would always have these issues and tried to come to terms with that way of being. There was always a nagging feeling that there was a way to calm my nervous system and live a more fulfilling life. For many years I have been on a journey of self-discovery and I have found Somatic Breathwork, Dynamic Breathwork, and Sound Healing to be the most powerful tools to help me live a balanced life and manage my stress and anxiety.
I have been in the medical field for over 15 years and have always longed to help people. I received an Associate of Applied Science degree from Sinclair College in Dayton, Ohio, and have practiced as a dental hygienist for over twelve years. Being in the preventative field of medicine I decided I wanted to help people in a more holistic way so I obtained a Bachelor's Degree from Purdue University Global in Health and Wellness. My passion is helping people learn how to combat stress and anxiety since these issues are the culprit behind so many disease processes. I decided I wanted to coach people on how to manage stress so I continued my education by attending the Functional Medicine Coaching Academy and became a Certified Functional Medicine Health Coach. While furthering my education I was also committed to healing myself and exploration into mind-body healing modalities. I have always been drawn to music, yoga, and meditation. While deep in meditation one day I received a clear message that I was supposed to become a breathwork facilitator and sound healer. I did not know much about breathwork or sound healing at the time but decided to answer the calling and after doing some research I decided on a training program.
I have received two certifications as a breathwork facilitator. I completed an online certification with Ben Holt through Connect and Evolve as a breathwork facilitator learning over 20 different breathwork techniques. Many of the techniques I learned through this program were relaxation methods aimed to restore the body to a rest and digest state and quell stress and anxiety. I also learned breathwork techniques designed to activate the body before athletic performances and to help prepare the body for meditation. One of my favorite activator techniques I learned is Dynamic Breathwork which I utilize as a daily practice. Through this certification, I also learned Sonic Neural Breathwork which is a powerful freedom technique designed to release trauma and fears.
I also attended an in-person training with Steven Jaggers to learn Somatic Release Breathwork™ which is the primary type of breathwork session I facilitate. This training was immensely powerful. This training prepared me to hold 1:1 sessions, group sessions, and zoom sessions with clients to help them resolve trauma, relieve stress, and find clarity and purpose in life.
In January of 2023, I started another breathwork certification taught by Campbell Will of Breath Body Therapy.
In this certification, I am learning how to help people correct dysfunctional breathing patterns. By optimizing how we breathe we can drastically improve our overall health and well-being. I will be finishing this certification mid-2023 and will be starting to offer breathing assessments and coaching on how to improve breathing function to help reduce chronic anxiety, fatigue, and other health issues.
